Virtual visiting

For patients who don't already own their own smart phone or tablet computer, we have a number of tablets available to use to keep in touch with loved ones.

Relatives of patients can also send messages to patients via a dedicated email address. Staff will pass these messages on.

If you want to get a message to a loved one who is a patient at Nightingale Hospital Birmingham, please email LettersForLovedOnes@uhb.nhs.uk.

Please note, email is not a guaranteed secure method of communication. Personal or sensitive information is sent by email at the sender's own risk.

Family Liaison Team

Where patients are not able to get in touch with relatives directly, the Family Liaison Team will be able to provide a general update to a nominated contact or next of kin. The team will get in touch with these contacts by telephone each afternoon.

You can call the Family Liaison Team on 0121 424 0808.

Please note, contact regarding a patient's discharge from the hospital or any significant change in their condition will be made with relatives by the ward staff, and not by the Family Liaison Team.
